While on a bike ride exploring Australia’s beautiful Rottnest Island, a couple came upon a pair of adorable quokkas. Of course they had to stop and say hello.
“A short ferry ride from Perth, Australia lands you at this amazing little island that’s home to the happiest animal in the world animal – the quokka.”
If you’re not familiar with Quokkas, according to Wikipedia:
The quokka, the only member of the genus Setonix, is a small macropod about the size of a domestic cat. Like other marsupials in the macropod family (such as kangaroos and wallabies), the quokka is herbivorous and mainly nocturnal.
Quokkas can be found on some smaller islands off the coast of Western Australia, in particular on Rottnest Island just off Perth and Bald Island near Albany.
Last month this photo of a possibly very happy Quokka, taken by 21-year-old Campbell Jones, went viral.
Talk about adorable.
