Carter Blanchard suffers from the skin disorder vitiligo which leaves him with white patches around his eyes.
Now a Labrador named Rowdy with the same condition is boosting eight-year-old Carter’s confidence.
Carter’s mom, Stephanie Adcock, from Arkansas, contacted Rowdy’s owner after seeing the dog online.
The pair eventually came together after donations from the public funded the trip.

Owner Niki Umbenhower, from Oregon, said: “It was as if they had known each other forever.
“Carter walked right in, took off his jacket and just knelt down and started petting him.”
She said Rowdy became an online celebrity after a news item.
Niki added: “I wanted to do whatever I could to continue helping Carter.
“So I would post a photo his mom would send me alongside a photo of Rowdy and put an inspirational quote or congratulations for getting straight As or something of that nature.”
Adcock, Carter’s mother, said he finally had the confidence she knew he could one day possess.
“Really, it was life-changing for him,” Adcock said. “It changed his childhood for the better. It was a gift I couldn’t give him.”
Carter said his favorite thing about spending time with Rowdy is getting to pet him and he also added that he thinks Rowdy could use a few more spots on his back.
ABC affiliate KATU reports Rowdy recently suffered a seizure and doctors say more tests are needed to determine the cause.
UPDATE ON ROWDY . Rowdy saw a neurologist in the ER today. They are not sure if it was a seizure or a stroke or something else. They did a lot of tests and without a "much needed" (expensive) MRI and CT Scan, we may never know. He could have a tumor or a mass causing a lot of his issues. . We left with them prescribing a new medication for seizures as well as some codeine for his pain. This could be age related, an isolated event, or he may have more episodes like today. . I want to thank EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU for the prayers, well wishes, and support! It is truly overwhelming to see the kindness and love this pup has from around the world! We love you all! Please continue to follow along the amazing adventure we are having with Carter and his mom from Arkansas! While Rowdy started his day with a scare and a trip to the ER, he was able to end it meeting up with Carter, another beautiful little girl Emma from Eugene, and some dear family friends for a play date and then squeezed in a photo shoot to boot. . This dog never ceases to amaze me with his resilience!!
